dos attack are two childhood friends come djs and producers from madrid who ve have managed to create their own little space in the electronic music landscape. the masterminds behind cult label riverette, with releases by such exciting and forward-thinking artists as legowelt, oskar offermann, kornel kovacs, and minor science, the two are insatiable diggers to a point that they opened their own record store in the center of their hometown, named after the label. both as djs and producers, their creations are a reflection of their collection and taste – sometimes trance-y, sometimes hyperactive, always weird and wonderful, mixing the energy of late 70s new york with the good vibes of 90s rom-coms – pure love.

peter kruder und rodney hunter sind seit jahrzehnten buddies, sie wuchsen in derselben nachbarschaft wiens auf. somit ist eine kollaboration der zwei jungs längst Überfällig. die story wurde konkreter, als sich peter (15) und rodney (13) häufiger in peters heim trafen, um zu jammen und ihre musikalischen erzeugnisse, ein gemisch aus james brown, gary newman und sogar bauhaus, auf kassette aufzunehmen, mit spezieller kruder/ hunter handschrift. kurze zeit später schrieben die beiden musikgeschichte mit ihren kommenden neuen projekten. die beiden verloren sich auch jahre später nie aus den augen und treffen sich regelmäßig, um in alten zeiten zu schwelgen, als sie das tape deck rockten. inspiriert durch eines dieser gespräche wollten sie nun wieder gemeinsam musik erschaffen, einzig mit dem ziel, das einst begonnene mit dem damaligen spirit und den ideen aus jenen zeiten zu ende zu bringen. das resultat dieser jüngsten jam-sessions sind zwei fantastische tracks, das spektakuläre this is what you get und der Überwältigende tune namens addicted to ganja.

leonard chin, born in jamaica, started producing music with legends like augustus pablo or horace andy before he moved to london in 1975 and started his santic label. what more can i say reflect this typical 80 s uk soul production, a perfect glimpse of early brit-funk works combining soul, jazzy rhythms, lovers rock, midtempo beats. the song is mainly instrumental and includes sweet background vocals. this timeless hard to find tune finally has it s first time official reissue. here comes official reissue on pépite

7 inch singles were instrumental to the development of the jamaican music industry, more affordable than full lengths for the consumer, they also allowed the labels to turnaround what was being recorded into music played from their booming sound systems as quickly as possible. in that spirit, get on down will be reissuing some of the most crucial jamaican sides on 45, staring with the maytals “monkey man.” recorded in 1969, the cut was a smash hit in jamaica and hit number 47 when released in the uk in early 1970. “monkey man” went on to be highly influential on the british two-tone movement of the later 70s with the specials offering up a ripping version of the cut on their 1979 debut. the b side, “night and day”, though not a chart-burner, is certainly one of the most solid rock-steady cuts you’ll ever encounter rife with bubbly keys, tight snares and toots hibbert’s incredibly soulful vocals.

it’s been three rough years since mirrors for psychic warfare sprang into existence with their startling self titled debut, but don’t think for a second that the time was spent idle, this unit (comprised of neurosis’ scott kelly and producer sanford parker) constructed an even more unnerving and destructive record with “i see what i became,” i know, hard to believe. over the course of these eight bile-rich pieces a sonic abattoir is erected, exploited, and razed. turbulence rises and churns giving way to rhythmic machinations, lights flicker, a grand mal/guignol seizure besets a frog-headed snitch, blood collects in a stainless steel gutter. claustrophobic sudor that evokes all you held dear from skinny puppy, foetus, godflesh, bath tub tina, and wondering where the fuck you will sleep, provided you ever do. there’s nothing fun here, nothing but the cold of an autopsy followed by the heat of a crematorium. a sliver of galvanized bone flies from a circular saw into the toothless maw of a streetwalking kali yuga. good or bad, i’m not sure what we did to deserve this.

neck-snapping soul masterpiece from freddie scott, famously sampled by biz markie for his melancholic pop-rap hit “just a friend” and a surefire piano-driven basement party anthem in its own right. the work of the legendary producers gamble & huff, the track was also sampled by ghostface killah for the wonderful “save me dear” with jay dilla also utilising the crunching drums to lace many memorable productions for a tribe called quest and slum village. a peerless piece of deep soul and hip-hop history, here’s your chance to own the first ever officially licensed reissue on 45. on the flip, “powerful love” is uptempo guitar-soul with finger-popping swing. featuring delicate horns and gorgeous backing vocals, it’s an unfairly slept-on gem but, given the weight of the a-side, this is perfectly understandable. this special 7&#8243,, single comes housed in a heavy duty custom printed full-colour company sleeve and is limited to just 500 copies.

heat in two belgian flavors! check out the zaïrian electronic dance floor banger “nakombe nga” by les choc stars. comes with the dope, largely unheard belgium new beat version on the flip from the teknokrat s. both tracks were originally released in 1989 and this is the first time they appear together on 12-. reissue co-curated with renowned record fiend john gomez. the music on this winning double-sider was written by tony baron and gery françois, two belgian producers that were involved in several musical projects on the new beat scene in the 1980s. they worked under many aliases and recorded the teknokrat’s haunting “what did she say?” at the famous studio madeleine in brussels in 1989. prompted by jean martin from espera records, baron adapted the music into a further two songs to be released that year, virginity’s melancholic “the key”, and the surprising but ear catching collaboration with the label’s soukous stars, ben nyamabos les choc stars du zaire. it is still a mystery how the seeds were planted for the one-off pairing that culminated in the electronic soukous bomb “nakombe nga”. what is certain is that it is set to light up dancefloors worldwide.

this single is very special for visions recordings as we see a fresh collaboration between alex attias and luman child, two swiss artists reunited for the first time.alex proposed luman child a collaboration after listening to his music. then they met and talked about music , visions, influences, method of work and decided straight away to work together without knowing each other well and pushing them outside their comfort zone. they are both very happy with the resultjalex attias has been in the music for many years producing, remixing many great artists and djing all over the world. at the moment alex is about to release a compilation on bbe records ( lillygood party !) , plus a couple of remixes are on the way and he s also preparing other singles for his label visions .luman child produced in 2017 a killer first album with german label solid ground still available on a neo soul hip hop tip. he reached number 11 in the uk soul charts. as a musician and bass player luman child had a few collaborations with ferry ultra, gogo music and marc mac 4 hero.the project they present here is very organic soulful and musical. this single hold two killer tunes for the listener and the dancers.the a side is a 125 bpm disco jazz funk killer jam with live bass, fender rhodes and vintage keyboards sounds driven by a very funky drum beat and live basseline aimed to the dancefloor and good time party people keeping a smile on your face. its simply groovy and goes on and on for 10 minutes of pure disco pleasure.the b side is a funky number boogie jazz funk inspired by mr ayers vibes and sounds . the rhythm is groovy at 120 bpm and the moog bassline is round and fat. accompanied both track by fender rhodes and dope keyboards sounds, this one will definitely find place in dj boxes for those who play and love soulful music with an open mind. groovy , warm and soulful at his best.

seb zitos seven dials imprint serves up its third offering with jamie trench & khalil anthony continuing to champion the early garage flavours that the label is fast becoming known for. what was missing transports you back to the 90s with that ukg groove, bumping sub bass goodness and kahlil s gritty vocals. the dub mix leaves only a small portion of the vocals in the mix, chopping them todd the god style and giving the shuffling garage rhythm more room to breathe. on the b side label head, seb zito, switches things into peak-time roller territory, dampening the kick whilst putting more emphasis on the hats, dubbing out vocal snippets, adding acid flurries and throwing in an epic echoed breakdown. all three mixes make a clear nod to the past, whilst firmly setting themselves in the present gold again from seven dials.

second up on our bobby boyd unreleased recording we have some dope mid 80s material from bobby, “i like what you do to me” is boogie / proto house joint that is totally my bag, feels like it should be in a 80s movie weightlifting montage (in a good way) it just works on the dance floor so well.
on the flip things get even stronger with the proto-house banger “girl like you” a sick soulful number with with a biggest swinging kick drum i have ever heard, both proper club material.
